In her first major interview after Gov. Jim Gibbons filed for divorce and evicted her from the governor’s mansion, Nevada first lady Dawn Gibbons spoke exclusively with writer Siobhan McAndrew in the December issue of RENO Magazine.
As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal, in the exclusive the first lady admits to fears regarding her financial future as well as the humiliation she has endured when the governor entertains female visitors at the mansion.
The RENO Magazine story also includes comments from two of the three women the first lady claims are romantically linked to her husband: Kathy Karrash and Leslie Sferrazza Durant. As well as news that the first lady said she has exchanged e-mails with other betrayed wives of governors, including South Carolina’s Jenny Sandford and New York’s Silda Wall Spitzer.
All in all McAndrew, a reporter for the Reno Gazette-Journal, spent more than 20 hours interviewing the first lady. Hundreds of photos were taken for the story, including photo sessions at the governor’s mansion and in the small apartment where Nevada first lady Dawn Gibbons currently lives.
